I want to first say thanks to everybody who post here. I have learned a lot. I traded some work out for a 2011 170 that had been ridden twice and then stored in a garage for 4 years. I have drained the tank, cleaned the carb and lubed the throttle cable. Starts right up. When the gas pedal is pressed it revs up. When I released the pedal the throttle pulsed and slowy returned to idle. While coming down it backfired several times. Today I got pissed and cut the two wires going to the throttle sensor in the pedal assembly. Connected the two wires. Now when I release the e brake the engine goes immediately to full throttle and stays there until I reengage the e brake.
